COOL RUNNINGS

Inverter drives from HVAC specialists Alldales continue to assist in creating comfortable conditions for leisure and working at the prestigious More London Development on the South Bank of the Thames, a unique mixed use development, which has revitalised London's last remaining stretch of riverside land. Air conditioning systems recently commissioned for the Hilton London Tower Bridge and offices at 3 and 4 More London Riverside will incorporate 50 Alldales' inverter drives to help save energy and provide precise environmental control in use. This brings the number of drives supplied by Alldales to the More London development for use in air handling units to a total in excess of 125.

The 13-acre site is unique in combining corporate office space with community facilities and public open space in a traffic-free environment – vehicle access is via an underground network of roads. The high profile site boasts a year – round programme of entertainment, now including the Scoop, a public amphitheatre seating up to 800, restaurants and a its own Health Club. Home to the Greater London Authority and Ernst and Young's award-winning European headquarters building, More London's outstanding facilities have attracted a number of leading companies and institutions, as well as top retail names.

The new 245 bedroom Hilton hotel, the Group's 15th in the capital and due to be completed soon, is aimed primarily at the corporate market, offering a 400-delegate conference and banqueting room, executive suites with lounge and a fully-equipped business centre, as well as a lobby café and a ground floor signature restaurant/bar.

Chosen for their integration capabilities, Alldales' inverter drives have facilitated a move away from dedicated plantrooms in buildings throughout the site, saving space and enabling local control to suit individual occupancy patterns whilst providing more information through serial communications links to BMS Systems. The result is a low-noise, energy-saving approach to air flow management that reflects the forward thinking of the site and makes best use of available space while saving time in the shell and core works by fitting the drives to air handling units off-site.
